Golfers will take to the links at 9:04 a.m. Sept. 24 at the Sweetbriar golf course in Avon Lake for the fourth annual Maureen T. O’Brien Golf Scramble in honor of St. Raphael School and Magnificat High School graduate Maureen O’Brien, who died in November 2007 after a 15-year battle with breast cancer.
All proceeds from the event will go to MOmentum Organization, a non-profit started in O’Brien’s memory by three fellow Magnificat alumnae, Colleen O’Brien and Patty Abraham.
MOmentum provides lawn care, house cleaning, medical transportation and light home maintenance to women battling breast cancer.
“Unfortunately, Mo’s life ended at her home in Avon, but her spirit will live on in the women our non-profit services,” Kane said.
